Pro Wood Finishes provides an unparalleled level of service supporting every aspect of the wood finishing process. From a vast selection of innovative products and materials that optimize their clients’ performance, to the unmatched speed and accuracy of their color match process.
They needed to add e-commerce functionality to their website to allow users to order from a vast number of painted products and supply inventory.They also needed a filter function to allow ease of navigation and enhance the user experience.
I was the only designer on the project, so everything you see I created myself. I was involved in the process from beginning to end and everything from creating flows and wireframes, all the way to creating final UI designs.
In this project, the main focus was to establish a user-friendly navigation structure that allowed the user to filter through product categories and complete an order. We jumped ahead on creating the wireframes.
Next we moved to exploring the overall look and feel of the website. We created landing page mock-ups using the same layout but different styles. Taking this route helped communicate different directions we could take more vividly, as the client could clearly see the impact each direction would have.
The design was established quite quickly as it followed the already-live website, so the next step was to finalize the user interface and make it work with WooCommerce plugin prior to launch.
